rants&raves It seems these days artists are a dime-a-dozen and within this chicken coop of clucking know-it-alls, the majority of them are "visionary artists". What vision are they portraying? Is it geometric shapes or cute little floating neon dots from some extraordinary trip they had? Or maybe some paint applied too thick and smeared all over because they have no idea about technique or actual application of their medium? This makes me sick and I'm beginning to lose hope in art period. While we struggle to make money, some asshole with a deco-color marker is preaching to the masses about sacred geometry and togetherness but they don't realize that what they are producing has no swagger, flavor, style, skill, or direction. Which only goes to prove that maybe the masses are just as stupid as the man preaching! Shit, maybe the man preaching figured it out. Maybe these "visionaries" armed with a spaced-out mindset and some less-than-average talent are the preachers of the new age. If that's the case, I'm gonna give them the same middle finger I give to the other elitests. When the dust settles, the true will still be standing and my middle finger will still be shining - right in the face of another talentless "visionary artist". - paco el guapo
